Who We Are

The Museum of the Earth—a public education venue of the Paleontological Research Institution (PRI) in Ithaca, New York—is a nationally-ranked, university-affiliated natural history museum.   With one of the largest fossil collections in the U.S., PRI is a leader in the field of Paleontology and in Earth Science education. In 2003, PRI opened the Museum of the Earth as a space to engage the public and expand educational programming. The museum's 8,000-square-foot permanent exhibition takes visitors on a journey through 4.5 billion years of history, from the Earth's origin to the present day.
